Japan, May 2005 I've been entranced by Japan since grade school when I was asigned a report on Japan. In college I studied Japanese history, language and religion. Immediately after graduation, I went to rural Japan and found myself assisting English teaches in a circuit of 11 public middle-schools.  That was 16 years ago, and this past May was my first time back.
